I have tried to install Windows to a new disk from and ISO. The ISO was downloaded from the HP support site along with the relevant drivers. I have created an install USB and can boot from it but it shows a popup saying it can't find any drivers. I have tried putting the extracted files from the Downloaded .exe fils on another USB but although they cam from the HP site and I had selected the correct model and OS they still say that "No device drivers were found"

Did you use this software to create the bootable USB recovery drive?
If not, then I recommend you do so.

Windows should not be asking for disk drivers unless the notebook has an Intel 11th generation core or newer processor, which yours does not.
The only suggestion I can offer would be to use the storage controller drivers for your notebook's processor and chipset that I zipped up and attached below.
Copy all of the files in the folder in the attached file to a USB flash drive.
Have the flash drive and your Windows installation media plugged into USB ports.
Boot from the Windows installation flash drive.
When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.
If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
Click Next and Windows should find the drive and install.

Hi,
Thanks for the quick response.
The files were recognised so that's a step forward but...
I got an error message for the SATA AHCI Controller saying it couldn't install it!
for the Memory and Storage Management extension it said... No New devices were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers and then click OK

You're very welcome, Mike.
Sorry those drivers didn't work.
Unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions for you because those are the storage controller drivers on the support page for your notebook.

In order to attach them, I had to remove some files, but I don't think they were required.
What you can try is to download the free 7-Zip file utility and extract the IRST file (sp144910) to its driver folder and copy all of the files in the driver folder to the flash drive.
Of course you will need to do this using another PC.
The first file at the top of the page is for 64 bit.
I'm also going to give you a newer storage driver you can try that I attached below.

Hi,
Thanks again for looking at this for me.
I can see the driver listed on the USB but it's comes up with..
No new devices drivers were found. Make sure the installation media contains the correct drivers and then click OK.
Is it possible that I have to extract all the file to a single directory?

If you made the ISO file bootable with Rufus, Ventoy or something else, try using Microsoft Media Creation Tool. If still no luck, use a different usb drive.

Hi,
Thanks for the help..
So far I have recreated the Install USB from the iso of win11 from the HP site.
Then 'burned' it to a new USB (using Linux cmd as I have no working Windows device), and started the Probook.
The Probook recognises the USB and allows the install to start but keeps asking fro drivers! I download them from HP and it shows in the compatible driver window and I select it but nothing works. The install keeps saying it can't find a driver for my system!

See the discussion below. The person made the ISO file bootable with a Linux-based utility, but it didn't work. He ended up using Media Creation Tool. I think you are in the same situation.
If you don't have access to a Windows PC, I don't know what to tell you, unless you know how to install Windows in virtual machine in Linux.
