Says no hard drive  even in hardware diagnostics uefi

Thank you for posting in the HP Support Community, @Spacepirate8 

 

If the hardware diagnostics says that no hard drive is detected, this means that

the drive is either no physically present there  or  it is so severely corrupted that the system cannot detected it at all

 

  • If your PC is out of warranty, you will need to buy and replace the disk on your own. No worries, it is not expensive.
  • If your PC is within active warranty period, feel free to reach to HP Support for free in-warranty service
  • Refer to the product model service manual for your model (page 31/37) >> http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04582314

You can buy HDD or SSD from online or local tech stores, and replace it on your own or contact HP Authorized Service center for assistance.

 

 

Last part - once you replace the faulty HDD component - you will need to reinstall back your operating system
