Went to system recoverery and selected restore to factory settings. Nothing happened but whenever I try it now I get message that recovery manager is already running. Has been this way for at least two days. It is not on this computer. I can't get the forum to open on the affected computer. This operation was successful on a previous occasion.

Thank you. The model number is 15-j013cl. I should also tell you that my internet service is really weak right now. I think there is a problem with the Century Link phone line at this time and my other computer is barely able to function on the internet. Could this cause the hang up for system recovery?

Thank you. Your suggestions helped me solve the problem. Your first suggestion of performing a hard reset or forced reset did not work. I found the infomation in your second suggestion (Resetting your PC to resolve problems) I had previously tried pushing f11 on start up but thought I needed to wait for the welcome screen before pushing it. This was from something I had read on the net. The solution was to push it immediately on start up.
