If it somehow doesn't boot up could I change back the setting and the operating system (10) won't be affected?

HP Recommended

I don't see why not.

You make the changes from the BIOS, so you don't need to be in Windows.

So if something goes wrong I can revert and delete Windows 7?

If you made the set of recovery media, you can always factory reset the PC.

What do you mean by "made the set of recovery media"?

There should be a recovery manager program in your PC's program listing that allows you to make recovery media one time for your PC.

What about my data? Also, I don't have a 12 GB Usb Flash Drive. I have an external hard drive (250 GB with other files too don't know if the recovery would interfere) and a bunch of 4 GB DVD/CD

If you want, you can also use a free imaging utility such as Macrium Relect to create a system image of your PC's current status and save the image to a portable hard drive.

The software will also ask you to create bootable rescue media which you need to access the system image you saved.

I think the HP recovery drive created by the recovery manager requires at least a 16 GB flash drive and probably a 32 GB one would be better.

In any event, that is up to you whether or not you want to avail yourself of that opportunity.

So it would be safe to make both rescue media?

Also, for the Macrium Relect, do you just drag the system image onto a flash drive when I have to use it, or is there a program made to create the bootable USB?
