Just Had HP tech on phone. they cant find that Update either for my system 1809 AND canbt get Windows Update to try to install i.

I say SCREW it. I'm done until HP figures it out.

I have tried to force things in the past and they NEVER end well.

have a good weekend everyone

I bet that is why the update disappeared

Anyone else with the issue that did not get the download should attempt to check for updates

Bet they will work OK now!

UPDATE HISTORY READS

Last failed install attempt on ‎18/‎01/‎2019 - 0x800703e3

There are probably so many attempts then the system gives up. At least I now know ithere are no other Window updates.

Yes but can windows update any other drivers until you get past this one?

I believe they can BUT the issue I've always ahd with HP tech support is that they alwasy sayd WAIT for HP to issue the updat.

sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.

all in all this really SUCKS

Looked like they recalled the update since it's removed from the update catalog as well. What I'm wondering now is if we, the people who installed the recalled 1809 update before it was removed, will suffer from any consequences because of installing the driver?

So I'm actually a software architect and have been around the block a few times... 🙂

Anyway...  It's the HP Wireless Button Driver.  My HP Spectre doesn't even have a wireless button!  I think it's harmless to leave it "as is".  I would much rather not have my Updates always failing.  But you can, Open Device Driver, navigate to Human INterface Devices, right click onHP Wireless Button Driver, go to Properties and then select "Rollback Driver".

However... I'm leaving mine "as is".

If a newer driver comes out, it will probably update anyway.

TYpo in my last post... I meant to say "Device MANAGER" !!
