HP ENVY x360 - m6-aq103dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This is what I am receiving from Windows Update:

HP DEVELOPMENT COMPANY, L.P. - SYSTEM - 5/26/17 12:00 AM 6.0.21.1 ERROR 0X800f0247f

Windows has been trying to install this update for days now and I don't know what it is or what to do to fix this. I've looked everywhere on your website and Internet and have found nothing on the subject. Must be something recent. Just started and won't download.

Any suggestions?

Yes. It sure doesn't look like an HP problem.
Patients I have. Annoying but not harmful.

I think Windows Update is trying to install an update that does not apply to your laptop. Several people have reported problems with this update and HP is looking into it.

Well then I will not worry about it. I thought it was something like that. I've been trying to install and uninstall to no avail. I was worried that I was missing a program or had to install one.

Thank you for your quick answer and would like to know when this will be fixed. Or should I just wait and Windows Update will just stop trying to install it.

I believe this is a problem that must be solved by Microsoft. Many others reporting the same problem.

Biggest issue right now is that it came to light on Fri afternoon before a long  holiday weekend. It will probably be Tues before any progress is made working on it.

Download Windows 10 Updates Troubleshooter Tool from Microsoft

Run it and click on "Hide updates" option and you'll be able to hide desired update  in the list.

It worked! Thank you very much.

I would still like to be notified when this false update is fixed by Microsoft. Maybe by letter or post.

Thank you

@mecanicogolf

You're welcome. At least the annoyance is gone. I will let you know if I hear anything about it being fixed-but I am just a messenger who reports issues.

It has finally been fixed. But I guess you know that by now.

Thanks again.
