@Wem51, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If the camera on your Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000 is not appearing in the Device Manager and is not functioning, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Physical Connection:

  • If your laptop has a physical camera switch or cover, make sure it is not set to the off position or covering the camera.

Ensure Privacy Settings Are Correct:

  • Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera and make sure that access to the camera is allowed for apps and services.

Run Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot. Select Video Playback and Hardware and Devices, then run the troubleshooter for each.

Update Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager and select View > Show hidden devices. Check if the camera appears under Imaging devices. If it does, right-click and select Update Driver.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Make sure your Windows operating system is up-to-date. Sometimes updates can resolve hardware issues.

Reset the Camera App:

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features. Locate the Camera app and click on Advanced options, then select Reset.

Check Camera in BIOS:

  • Even if nothing appears related to the camera, ensure that the BIOS is updated to the latest version available for your model. You can download the latest BIOS update from the HP Support site.

Use HP Support Assistant:

  • Try using the HP Support Assistant again to check specifically for firmware or driver updates related to the camera.

I hope this helps.
