@aaronnapster,

You can follow the steps below to install Intel RST VMD drivers for the Windows installation.

1. Use a Windows installation usb drive created with Microsoft Media Creation Tool (an ISO file-based installation usb drives tend to cause errors during the IRST driver installation).

2. Download Intel RST driver from the link below. Run it as administrator and follow the on-screen instructions to perform the driver extraction.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp146501-147000/sp146929.exe

3. Go to C:\SWSetup\sp146929. Double click the sp146929 folder and copy the F6 folder to the root directory of a Windows installation usb drive. The F6 folder contains IRST drivers which the installation setup needs to detect the storage drive.

4. Connect the usb drive to the notebook and boot the system from the usb drive. When asked where to install Windows, click on Load Driver -> Browse -> the usb drive in the window that opens -> the F6 folder -> OK.

5. Multiple .inf driver files may be displayed. Select one and click Next.

6. The storage drive will be displayed with partitions if the drive has Windows installed previously. Delete each of all the partitions only to see "unallocated space" and click Next to proceed the installation.

When you navigate to the F6 folder and click OK, you are supposed to see two.inf driver files as shown below. If you select one of them and click Next, then the drive is supposed to be displayed.'

Uncheck the box on the bottom left corner of the screen. If you see driver files shown above, select one and click Next.

If you still don't see the driver files, I don't know what the problem could be, as many people used sp146929 to install IRST drivers on their Intel Core 11th-13th gen processor-based notebooks.

See this thread where this person installed IRST drivers on a SATA drive, so sp146929 works for SATA drives and M.2 NVME SSDs.

If you still have the issue and your notebook has Windows factory-installed, you can use HP Cloud Recovery Tool to create a bootable recovery usb drive that restores the storage drive to a factory state.

You need a 32 GB usb drive to hold the media. Click the link below for how to use the recovery tool.

@aaronnapster

Since your PC is not working, and you need to use the HP cloud recovery tool to make the bootable USB recovery drive, you will need to enter your PC's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed.

Your PC's product number is 600T4EA#BH4
