HP OfficeJet 8022 All-in-One Printer

We are no longer getting the color magenta. We had to go buy it because we ran out. Now it is not getting replaced. What do we need to do to get back on track?

Hi @Magnoliamarket,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Ink Cartridge Installation:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Ensure that the magenta cartridge is properly seated in its slot.
  • Remove the cartridge and reinsert it, making sure it clicks into place.

Run a Printer Cartridge Alignment:

  • Use the printer menu to perform a cartridge alignment.
  • Navigate to the setup menu, and select Printer Maintenance > Align Printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the alignment process.

Clean the Printhead:

  • In the printer menu, go to Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
  • Follow the steps to clean the printhead to improve ink flow.

Check for Ink Levels:

  • Confirm that the new magenta cartridge is recognized and has sufficient ink.
  • You can view ink levels from the printer display menu or through the HP Smart app.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn on the printer.

Update Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. Check for updates in the printer menu or visit HP Support.

I hope this helps.
