@Albe76

The support method helped me. So I would recommend trying it too. You can of course reassure yourself with telephone support. However, German telephone support could only be reached after many attempts.

Then I recommend that you set up the PIN again. This should solve your problem.

Problem solved by pressing Y , rebooting and after changing PIN (pc must be connected on internet).

Note: the above method should work 1 out of 10 times (comment by a technician)

In the future, it is recommended removing any pen drive before any pc update.(I have found this note on the internet)

For the record, I am not able to contact HP customer support as the officially provided link in Serbia (https://support.hp.com/rs-sr/contact) only has options for their service center locator and the HP community forum. So apparently I can't contact them directly, even though my warranty is still valid, and I would have a number of questions to ask them. That is, of course, only if they wanted to talk with me in the first place and explain what happened. For now I can only guess about the whole situation as it stands.

About the PIN setup, I suppose I was lucky enough to have "Microsoft authenticator" app on my phone that would confirm my identity (through my phone's fingerprint scanner) so that I could finish the setup. However, I am careful not to leave my phone number anywhere on the internet, from personal experience.

Based on my overall experience with HP, I am going to think at least twice before I ever decide to buy any other product from them -  just my personal consideration of course.

Buonasera.

Good evening. I too had this problem these days following the BIOS update with my HP 255 G8.
I tried to follow this solution and that is, as soon as the screen with the two choice options Y or N appeared, I pressed Y and immediately after F1 and I must say that in my case it seems to have worked, on the next restart the blue window.

I had the same problem, but after pressing "Y" i connected to my wifi and got a code at my microsoft account. Then my laptop worked just like before. I am typing this from my laptop only
