Can you teach me how to unlock the "Advanced" tab in the BIOS? HP G256 laptop BIOS Version/Date: Insyde F.63, 24/08/2023 SMBIOS Version: 3.3

• Are you looking to access a specific BIOS setting within the Advanced tab? If yes, which setting are you trying to modify?

In the meantime, kindly try the following:

1. Shut down the notebook completely.
2. Power it on and repeatedly tap F10 to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.
3. Press F9 to load BIOS default settings.
4. Save the changes and exit using F10.
5. Check if any additional BIOS menus become available after restarting.

Additionally, kindly ensure that the BIOS is updated to the latest version available for your specific model through HP Support. In some HP notebooks, certain BIOS menus are unavailable depending on the hardware configuration and platform design.

Exact HP product model number: HP 256 G8

Product number (P/N). 613G3LA#AK4

I need access to the Advanced tab to improve processor and memory performance, and also for study purposes.

My current BIOS version is **Insyde F.63, dated 08/24/2023.

However, I noticed that a newer BIOS version is available for download on the HP website. I'm worried that updating the BIOS might still leave the Advanced tab locked.

If you prefer, we can try to unlock the Advanced tab on my current BIOS version first, or update to the latest BIOS version and then try to unlock the Advanced tab.

What should we do?

For the HP 256 G8, the Advanced BIOS tab is not intended to be user-accessible. On most HP business and consumer notebooks, including the HP 256 G8, advanced BIOS menus are hidden to help ensure system stability and prevent hardware damage.

Updating to the latest BIOS version will not normally unlock the Advanced tab. BIOS updates are released to improve compatibility, security, stability, and fix known issues, but they generally do not add hidden BIOS menus.
 

 Attempting to use unofficial BIOS modifications may result in system instability and could render the notebook unusable.
