Can I connect an outboard audio interface (Apollo twin MkII) into my notebook via it's USB C? I bought the thunderbolt to USB C adapter they sell with it that is supposed to make it compatible with windows PC's.

This is the adapter I purchased off amazon:

StarTech Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter - Thunderbolt 3 Laptop to Thunderbolt 1 or 2 Peripheral Converter – Black (TBT3TBTADAP)

From what I can see, it seems like everything working on the audio interface's side, but my notebook doesn't seem to recognize it. I thought maybe I was missing a driver for my USB C port, but can't find anything on it. Any thoughts or advice is appreciated.

Some things to note:

- My Windows OS is definitely up to date (took like 12 hours)

- I installed the correct driver from Universal Audio (manufacture of my audio interface) and my notebook see's it in programs listed as UAD-2 System Driver

- I have another audio interface connected through USB that works fine

-internet connection is wireless

What is your HP Pavilion Laptop 14-bk0xx  ? I use the following machine to answer your question, yours could be very close if not the same

            HP Pavilion - 14-bk063sa

which shows it has one USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s). It is not a Thunderbolt 3 port. It is similar to USB-A port with a different shape.

Regards.

What do you mean by "What is your HP Pavilion Laptop 14-bk0xx?"

Also, I have a Thunderbolt 3 to USB C converter that is supposedly supposed to work for Windows PC's for my interface device. I think I'm just missing the driver, where could I find the USB C driver software download for my notebook?
