Hi, @tophtml :
For your model, you need this driver...
4.2.9.1 REV: A
This package provides the HP 3D DriveGuard software for supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. HP 3D DriveGuard protects the hard drive by "parking the heads" if the notebook is accidentally dropped or is abruptly impacted by another object.

I had a problem with the installation.
"Error 1722. There was a problem with the Windows installer package.A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected."
I removed, re-downloaded and re-installed several tims and always the same results.
Thanks for the effort.

That's interesting...
I have the same 3D driveguard version on my HP 6910p notebook running the latest edition of W10 CE with the latest updates.
I just turned it on to check for updates, so it is up to date, and my HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor device reports working properly under the system devices category in the device manager.
Now, I do have an Intel 535 SSD in my notebook, and I just manually installed the actual driver without the 3D driveguard software since a SSD doesn't need that hardware, as there are no heads to park.
It appears that these latest W10 updates are wrecking all 3 versions of the 3D driveguard software.

As the prices keep falling on the SSDs, the spinning platters will go by the wayside. I really don't need the drive guard because the only time I carry my computer is when it's turned off and the heads are parked anyway. It's nice to have all of the software and hardware working but, just about the time that happens, Bill Gates comes out with an update and messes it up again.
Thanks for the help.

Anytime.
If you decide to get a SSD for your notebook, you can do what I did...
Go to the windows control panel>programs>uninstall.
Uninstall the 3D driveguard software and restart the PC.
If there is now an unknown device which used to be the HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor in the device manager, click on that, and then click on the driver tab, click on Update Driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.
That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp64144.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.
Then restart the PC and see if you are error-free.
