EliteBook 6930p
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have formatted and reinstalled a Windows 7 Pro 64-bit OS on an old HP EliteBook 6930p but I am still missing a driver accordng to the Device Manager. It shows under the category "Other devices". I'm getting dizzy from installing every driver under the sun.

Does someone know what drivers might correspond to "Other devices"? The fingerprint reader, card reader, modem, and network devices (BT, NIC, Wifi) all seem to be accounted for.

Hi:

You need this driver for that device...

This package provides HP 3D DriveGuard for the supported notebook models and operating systems. HP 3D DriveGuard receives notifications from the integrated accelerometer and protects the hard drive (HDD) by automatically "parking the heads" to reduce the risk of damage if the notebook is accidentally dropped or is abruptly impacted by another object.

Hi:

Please post the hardware ID for the device you see listed under the Other Devices category, and I will post the link to the driver you need.

To find the hardware, ID, click on the device needing the driver.

Then click on the Details tab at the top of the device window.

Now you will see a Property drop down list, and it will be set to Device Description.

Drop down on that list, and select the 2nd item (Hardware ID's).

Post the top string of characters that you see in the window.

I see two lines of information in that Details pane for Hardware IDs:

ACPI\HPQ0004

*HPQ0004
