HP ENVY X360 Convertible 13-AY0009AU
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I use a HP ENVY X360 Convertible 13-AY0009AU. I only got it last week, and when I opened the HP command center then, I was delighted to find that it had a quiet mode, as I record and produce music on this laptop and having a quiet mode would greatly benefit my microphone recording process.

When I used command center last week, everything was good. When quiet mode was selected, the laptop really did become quiet. However today when I tried to open command center again I crashed a couple of times. So I reset the app in Settings and re-opened it, only to find that "quiet mode" had disappeared, and my product specifications to be empty.

The problem I face with my Command Center is exactly as detailed in:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Software-and-How-To-Questions/HP-envy-command-center-does-not...

It is to be noted that I installed a Windows 10 update just yesterday.

After I encountered this, I did the following things (in sequence), all to no avail:

- Uninstalled and re-installed Command Center from the official website

- Updated BIOS

- Tried to follow @Barachiel 's suggestion (linked above) - My BIOS now didn't even have the option of changing any "System Power Scheme"; not sure if this had to do with the update or not

Would really appreciate some help here! Thank you!

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Next uninstall HP Command Center and then download the latest version from Microsoft Store

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Good day @KrazyToad

I have to admit that I read your reply with some skepticism. But I did exactly as you stated, and after resetting the Command Center on "Settings", my Command Center is back to normal, shows all my system information, and has a quiet mode!

Some other details that may be useful:

- I had to uninstall and reinstall my HP Support Assistant; it was buffering continuously and did not respond.

- The updates I installed were: AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver, HP Connection Optimizer, Realtek Card Reader Driver, Realtek HD Audio Driver, Intel Bluetooth Driver

Thank you so much for your help!
