HP ENVY Notebook exploded internally - now doesn't charge

One time the laptop exploded. Now no matter what charger I use the laptop does not charge indirectly, and the battery drains about 20% every 5 minutes. The battery itself can be separately charged when taken out of the laptop, so I do not think it is an issue with the battery and is instead damage to the motherboard or other components inside. I can only assume that said component(s) have overheated and hence exploded despite not catching fire. The laptop turns on and functions normally, so my best guess is that the component or components that have gone bang are those that transfer the AC into DC, such as a diode, however I am not an expert and so may be horribly wrong on that.

Can anyone accurately diagnose the issue &/or provide a solution?
