In my product bundle a Windows 11 Home license is included.
I instantly installed Ubuntu 24 on the laptop and entirely wiped the harddisk in the setup process.
How and where do I find the windows 11 home product key for which i paid?
Thank you, pepi

Try dmidecode or some variation such as
sudo dmidecode | grep -i 'Product Key'
or
sudo dmidecode -t system | more
If you have a new system you should be able to do a factory restore using cloud recovery
The license key should be HP OEM for Window home and is the same key as any other windows 11 HP laptop.
Did you activate windows when you first got the laptop?

Hello,
dmidecode did not help, but it brought me to the idea to google for "ubuntu read windows product key in bios" and found the following command which worked well for me. I have the product key now:
sudo strings /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/MSDM
Thanks for the hint for cloud-recovery, i checked it and my computer is reported as supported. Good to know there is a fallback if needed.
I did not understand what is meant by "The license key should be HP OEM for Window home and is the same key as any other windows 11 HP laptop."
No, i did not activate a windows, as i instantly added a bootable live ubuntu stick to get a proper operating system on the machine.
Thanks.

I am glad that worked out for you. I was actually unaware of that strings procedure. I do not have MSDN but tried OEMB
root@dual-linux:/sys/firmware/acpi/tables# strings OEMB
OEMB
W111612OEMB1749
MSFT
The reason I asked about cloud recovery is that it did not work on the product ID which I guessed #ACJ for India
I also tried #ABA which failed.
The Item0015 error is the one HP shows when the Cloud Recovery Download is removed from the the internet or so I have surmised. If you actually have cloud recovery you should use a 32gb flash drive to make a copy before the download is removed.
If that 552D6AV#ACJ worked for you it would indicate that in my location (USA) is not possible to create a cloud recovery for your laptop.
