@ ripslauter

If you don't know something better ask.

Support assistant collects (reads) hardware info automatically from BIOS, Windows hardware id's etc. No input permitted.

Your HP support opinion is based on false premise and lack of knowledge.

Again, read before you answer.

What the actual model number does not mean anything? Thats BS. The assistant is NOT needed.  I know what I'm doing, don't insult my intelligence. I've bulit my own machines and upgraded my own laptops for years, I know how to look up the correct BIOS... There is no purpose in insulting the people in this forum....

Had I been the only one... but how could you know that.

No the Bios was listed as update for 17A, if it was the wrong bios its only Hp fault, the section was correct.

Dont think its Amd fault, there are actually newer drivers, its Hp that doesnt provide updates, Amd should manage updates directly to avoid this

PS: 3 weeks after manual driver update and one freeze on  a video

I am going to say this one last thing to you. I was young once and my perception of the world and knowledge was pretty much linear (also skewed and wrong)

Now, I look at at things in every possible angle, sometimes in one of the other two languages I’ve learned.

I know there are only about 20 personality types and mixed with the same base knowledge it’s inevitable that persons whom exist with your exact intellectual and emotional scale will have similar problems and  hurdles.

Consequently, multiple minds will land in the same place; arrogantly, ignorantly, screaming the rhetoric.

In this day and age people don’t look for the answers they look for quick fixes and instant gratification. It’s a spoiled time of spoiled brats and defunct attitudes.

For the record, only novices utilize the automatic update systems without checking the absolute necessity.

I was young once too and have lived 67 years, I don't need to justify my knowlege of life. Spare me the psychological BS.You are  not any better than me. As for this forum it is just a place for mostly useless information. I come here only to get maybe that miniscule  bit of real info.....If I offended you or anyone out there I apologize. but I am who I am.......and I will not change.

After hunting down solutions for a client Envy with an AMD 2500u, I came across this thread and tried the forced install of the 19.1.1 drivers (we'll see how it works).

I am commenting for the sole purpose of encouraging everyone to ignore @Ripslauter. I don't know what this guy's deal is, but it is quite apparent he has no clue about how BIOS or BIOS rev numbers work. Either that or he is a master troll.

Several forums are buzzing about it, tons of ppl fuming and here's the guy who figured it all out, never seen the laptop or software, never heard of BIOS self check, imputes corrupted or mismatched BIOS like he doesn't know any better... but has all the answers. Waste of time.

For those interested, there's new laptop from Huawei: Matebook D with Ryzen 2500u, 1Gb Vram, here's its driver page:  https://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/laptops/matebook-d-14-amd/
