[edit] (HP Pavilion X360 Laptop)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I am on version 8.5.37.19 (latest available version through HP website) of HP Support Assistant and on a fully updated version of Windows 10. I was forced to uninstall and then reinstall the Support Assistant from the HP website due to the below error message occuring when attempting to update the Assistant itself. Although, the same error message as quoted below still occurs despite the reinstallation (I have tried this twice now). How do I fix this?

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Welcome to the HP Forums, this is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you are getting Font"HP Simplified" cannot be found error. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,

  • When did this issue start?
  • Did you do any hardware or software changes?

Meanwhile:

Reset a laptop.

  1. Turn off the computer.

  2. Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.

  3. Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.

  4. Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

  5. For most laptops, press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds to reset.

  6. Plug the AC adapter back into the laptop computer, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.

  7. Press the Power button to turn on the computer.

  8. If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, and then press the Enter key.

  9. After Windows opens, reconnect each peripheral device that was disconnected, one device at a time, until all devices are reconnected.

Go to this Microsoft page to download .netframework repair tool and run it.

Let me know how it goes.

I've been experiencing the issue since I recently reset my laptop to HP factory settings. I haven't performed any hardware changes, although I have downloaded Windows Updates, HP Updates and other genuine mainstream appliucations.

I downloaded the .NET framework tool and it was unable to fix my problem. I am still under HP warranty, should I be looking to make a claim?
