HP X 360 Envy Convertible
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Have an Hp envy about 6 months old. It has suddenly stopped playing media files and some apps will not launch. I can browse internet without problems, but cannot stream any embedded videos such as Youtube. I can launch Netflix, but the none of the filsm etc will play.

I suspect the issue is connected with an update but this is just a hunch.

I have run full virus scans. I have tried system recovery and system restore. These steps initially solve the problem but it then returns.

Please help! 🙂

As I understand the HP x360 Envy will not launch apps or play any media files,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Did you change automatic updates to manual after the system recovery was done to understand what is causing the issue?

Have you checked any related HP Forum posts to resolve this concern?

Hi

I am also having the exact same issues with my new HP ENVY x360 PC. No matter what software/player I use, media files are not playing. This includes both audio and videos. They open but never start playing. Youtube videos also don't play in Firefox or Edge. All flash/shockwave players are updated. The HP Support Assistant says my PC is fully updated. When I scanned with an AntiVirus program, the problem seemed to have been resolved but then it came back. I am running the audio troubleshooter and it is not able to solve the problem either. There are issues with Skype as well. I have to restart my computer to make any calls using Skype, otherwise Skype calls are received on the other end but do not work on my end. Also, a lot of the time when I click on the Action Center in the right-hand side corner on the taskbar to see notifications, it refuses to open.

I have storage to update it but it said I can’t uodate it . I delete all my files and stuff but it still doesn’t work... please help !
