HP ENVY 17t 17-u163cl Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I bought this computer less than two weeks ago, September 3, 2017, and I am having issues--only used it 5 times.

I noticed that the computer starts quickly and can quickly scan my face for entry. However, once the computer moves on the next step my home screen takes 5 minutes to load. During those 5 minutes, my computer screen is all black and I can only see my computer cruiser.  Now, this happens every time I try to use my computer. This issue started after my computer shut off because I forgot to plug in the charger.

What can I do to fix this issue?

Thanks!

You are not alone in this. You have to disable the app readiness service in Windows. Type services in the search window (Cortana) and open the services desktop app...find the app readiness service...double click then first stop the service then for startup type pull down the menu and select "disabled"...now reboot and you should not have the delay in reaching the desktop. This is a temporary workaround. You will not be able to get updated while the service is turned off but a permanent fix will come as an update so check back and find out when you can turn it back on and install the update. It otherwise hurts nothing.

I have the same issue with my new Envy 15-aq165nr  and took the advice. It worked for now, fingers crossed.
From what I gather, this has been a common issue and an update is forthcoming?

No I have tried doing the same but still my problem persists. I have bought a new HP pavilion a week ago.
I disabled the same but still black screen problem is continuing.

If you have not disabled App Readiness
