Completely new HP laptop - and so I'm new to the HP universe.  HP Support Assistant suggested Intel Serial IO Driver update  (SoftPaq sp96999, version 30.100.195.1} which has failed to install on 2 occasions.

Questions:  1. Is this update really necessary and if it is, how do I install it? Or should I just ignore it?

2. In future, should I just allow my Windows 10 operating system to do all future updates for me or do I still need HP Support Assistant as well? Than you.

If you are not facing any issues with the Notebook you can ignore the update.

If there is an issue with the Intel Serial IO Driver, HP will release an updated working version or Intel might send the updates through the regular Windows updates

It is recommended to allow Windows to perform the updates and if HP releases any updates for HP drivers, the HPSA will scan for those drivers automatically

Thank you 😊
