See if there is a hardware problem: Watch this video.

Tap the ESC key after powering on. Tap it once a second after you see the LEDs on the keyboard flash. When you see the startup menu, press F2 to run diagnostics and select the keyboard test.

If a component fails during the UEFI test then Click here to check warranty

If the keyboard passes, then the problem is windows.  Is it just the keyboard or does the touch screen keyboard fail?  I assume you have a touch screen .

If you attach an external (USB) keyboard, does the keyboard work?

Do all of the keys fail or just a few?

What is the laptop's exact model or product lD?

Hi Beemer Biker, this problem is insane. I connected my Bluetooth keyboard an experienced the same problem with it. I am in someone's Microsoft 365 family and I'm wondering if it could be a software problem. Or maybe my computer has been hacked.  None of my apps in the 365 suite are working as before.

Is the problem with the numeric keypad or the numbers at the top?

If numeric keypad problem then see if disabling "mouse keys" helps

Hi BeemerBiker, the problem is with both the keypad and the top row numbers. I'm going to try your suggestion tomorrow. Stay tuned, will update.  And thanks for trying to help.
