Thanks for the link to that document.

Basically that documents illustrates all the tasks I've gone through in trying to bring my laptop to its original setup.

To summarize:

  1. My laptop's hard disk failed and I had to order a new one.
  2. I installed the new hard disk and everything went OK.
  3. I had since I bought my laptop a factory image memory stick that I thought it would install straightforward my original OS but id didn't and it caused the P2PP Check failed (my ticket's subject)
  4. I thought it may be related to my BIOS version and I installed the latest one
  5. I guess I am in a loop. My computer is working but none of the HP utilities nor original software was installed and my touchpad device does not work.
  6. The document in the link refers to access from Windows "HP Recovery Manager" tool which never got installed because of the failure.

Thanks for your help.
