HP Support Assistant isn't working properly. On attempting to check for updates/messages, it connects to the HP server but then goes no further. I end up with the following:
I have removed and reinstalled it, but it makes no difference.
(Interestingly, the HP support site isn't recognising my laptop either on the 'identify now' option.)

Hello @caudex,
Open the Support Assistant and see what version you have.
Usually the fix for this is to update it.
Uninstall the current version, restart the PC, then download the new one and install it.
Let me know how it turns out.
This is the latest version from that models driver download page.

Hmm, that is the latest version so I am at a loss.
Ill ask the others if they know of any other solutions.
In the mean time, you can also check for HP Updates via your models support page and check them one at a time, if your just curious.
Heres the link if you havent been there yet.

Personally, I dont use the Support Assistant, I just update them individually like this.

Well I wouldnt call that solved.
You can do an HP Recovery to reinstall Windows if you prefer.
F11 at boot up will take you there unless you have already made the recovery media.
Or you can also reinstall Windows 10 from a USB made from the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool.
You can manually install the drivers from HP after that from the same downloads page I mentioned earlier.
