Solved!

The estimated battery time is incorrect!

HP Notebook - 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently got a new HP 15 notebook and i noticed that the estimated battery time remaining has been acting strange. When the battery is at 99%, the estimated time is 5 hours but at 98%, its 7 hours; and it's not always 7, I've seen 9 as well. The point is, my laptop has been miscalculating the estimated battery time by a lot.

Hi @Mannat

Welcome to the HP Support Forum!

I understand that you are facing issue with the estimated battery time.
I would be glad to assist you.

Please follow the below steps
Step 1: We will first try Uninstalling and re-installing the battery software.
Step 2: Click Start and type device in the search field, then select Device Manager.
Step 3: Under the Batteries category, right-click the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listing, and select Uninstall.
Step 4: WARNING:Do not remove the Microsoft AC Adapter driver or any other ACPI compliant driver.
Step 5: On the Device Manager taskbar, click Scan for hardware changes.
Step 6: Windows will scan your computer for hardware that doesn't have drivers installed, and will install the drivers needed to manage your battery's power.

I would also recommend calibrating the battery.

I have found some wonderful HP Support Documents for this.
Calibrating the battery
Uninstalling and reinstalling battery software

Let me know how it goes:)
