HP Series 7 Pro 31.5 inch 4K Thunderbolt 4 Monitor - 732pk
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello everybody,
I have a HP Series 7 Pro - 732pk 31.5" monitor connected by a thunderbolt4 cable to a HP ENVY 16-h1000nf computer.
According to the doc, the screen is supposed to provide up to 100W to the computer to recharge the battery, but it seems to provide nothing since the battery gradually empties even if no task is active on the computer.
Does anybody know a way to enable this feature?

Ok, that would have been convenient.
I will have to buy a second charger for travel.
Again thank you for your reactivity

Hi @JMY49

having a 200 watt AC charger, it has to send the same 200 watts through the USB-C port otherwise it won't charge.

Thank you for this quick answer.

However, the battery is said to have a capacity of 83Wh and it can last at least for 5 hours which is an average consumption of 16Wh per hour. So, I thought that the average power needed was by far less than 100W and that the battery would discharge when power is required and charge during the idle times.

That has nothing to do with it, if there is not enough power in watts, it does not charge the laptop turned on.

in the following link for example for some Zbook models it indicates what to do.

That would certainly be more convenient! I guess I’ll need to purchase a second charger for my travels. Thanks again for your prompt responses. Best regards

Hi, i have the same Problem with my Envy 15-ep0670ng.

The user manual says that it should charge with less Power than 200 W through the Thunderbold port.

I tried with a 20 V 5 A power supply from Anker wich should fit the requirements:Screenshot 2024-11-14 091322.png
