What model  did you use to download the sp99388 driver?

I just googled it and used the ftp site to get that specific sp and installed it on an HP 14-dq0011dx.

"You should re-read the post" is a little rude, and not helpful.  The post reads "download drivers here:" and is followed by a blank entry.  Whatever may have been there in the first place is not there now.

You should re-read the original post. The link is right there.

This is the second time you've responded with this unhelpful comment "You should re-read the post".

Please take a look at my screen-capture of the original post, showing a blank space where the link should be.  It would be nice if you could take someone's word for what they are experiencing - and maybe re-post the link instead of making a comment like you did.

I tried every solution listed on this forum, and none of them worked.  I went onto the HP drivers page for my model here:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-spectre-13-ae000-x360-convertible-pc/16779579/mo...

The latest driver offered for the Synaptics touchpad was listed as being for v. 1803; it's the one others here have said needed to be edited because it's the wrong version for the latest Windows update.  With no other options that I could see - I gave it a shot; I installed it through the "Download and Install Manager", and it worked.

I now have the more complete Touchpad options page, and can enable/disable my touchpad like I used to.

That's not the original post. My original post contains the link.

I too had the same problem on this 2017 vintage Spectre x360 15t-AP000 running 1909.  My solution appears to have been as follows:

1. Download the SP81891 file from HP

2. Using Device Manager, remove the Synaptics  device completely

3. Using Settings>APPs I then removed the Synaptics application

4. THEN double-clicked the SP81891 file and let it install (worked fine, no errors)

5. Rebooted the PC

6. Device Manager now reports the Synaptics driver is 19.3.31.31

Cross my fingers, it appears to be working fine...
