I own an HP Victus Laptop 15-fa2082wm with an Intel CPU and NVIDIA RTX 4050 Laptop GPU.
I am currently experiencing two major issues:
🔹 OMEN Gaming Hub Issue
The Performance Mode option is missing from OMEN Gaming Hub. Only the standard power modes are available, and I cannot access Performance Mode settings.
🔹 Severe Windows Lag and Display Issues
The laptop experiences severe lag, stuttering, and UI freezes during normal Windows usage. The issue appears to be related to the integrated Intel graphics.
Interestingly, when I connect an external monitor and switch the display mode to "Second Screen Only" (Ctrl + P), the lag completely disappears and the system runs smoothly. This makes me suspect that the issue may be related to the internal display path, Intel graphics driver, MUX configuration, or display hardware.
🧰 Troubleshooting Already Performed
Updated Windows to the latest version.
Installed the latest BIOS available for my laptop.
Updated Intel and NVIDIA graphics drivers.
Reinstalled OMEN Gaming Hub.
Tested both battery and AC power operation.
Connected an external monitor and verified that performance becomes normal when using "Second Screen Only".
⚠️ Current Issue
Performance Mode is still missing from OMEN Gaming Hub, and the severe lag on the internal display persists.
I would appreciate any assistance in determining whether this is caused by a firmware limitation, graphics driver issue, hardware problem, or a known issue with this model.
Thank you.

A standard driver update will not fix this because Windows frequently retains corrupted display cache handoffs between the dual GPUs.
- Go to the official HP Drivers Page for your exact model and download the factory-validated Intel VGA driver (do not use the generic Intel driver assistant).
- Download a tool called Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU).
- Boot your PC into Windows Safe Mode, run DDU, and choose "Clean and restart" for both Intel and Nvidia.
- Once booted normally, install the HP-provided Intel driver first, followed by your Nvidia driver. This forces Windows to rebuild the internal display path cleanly.
On many entry-level Victus 15 configurations, HP intentionally hides "Performance Mode" in the OMEN Gaming Hub due to physical hardware and thermal cooling restrictions. However, you can often force-restore it:
- Open the HP Support Assistant app (pre-installed on your system).
- Search for updates and look specifically for the "OMEN Gaming Hub SDK Package". If this SDK is missing or outdated, the app cannot communicate with your motherboard components to reveal the Performance tab.
- If the tab remains missing after updating the SDK, your specific model's firmware locks it out. To bypass this, bypass the OMEN app entirely: Go to Windows Settings > System > Power & Battery and set your power mode directly to "Best Performance".
