Hello,
We have recently purchased number of HP Pavilion 15-n037tx Notebook PC Laptops (Product: f3z86pa) for our company, due to no-familiarities with windows 8 new interface of end users, we planned to go with windows 7 Professional x64 edition (which HP doesn’t recommend)
Problem:
I couldn’t find the AMD Radeon HD 8670m driver at first, but after reading some posts and research I found that I should try amd_catalyst_13.11_mobility_betav9.5 driver available on AMD website,
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/mobile?os=Windows%207%20-%2064
After installation, the yellow sign of exclamation went off from the Video Controller in Device Manager but when I open Display Adapter I found AMD Radeon HD 8600M Series with the Yellow Sign of Exclamation.
Attached is a Snap-shot of it.
I’m not sure has the video driver installed properly or not?
I’ll appreciate your help please.
Thanks

Thanks for your time and reply, Finaly we have upgraded our systems to Windows 8, sp62664 is the right driver for our AMD Radeon which only works with Windows 8 x64 bit.
Thanks you

Hi Ali-Khan,
I saw your post about the AMD driver. On this particular model it has two graphic drivers for the switchable graphics. For basic functions it will use the Intel card and for programs that require more graphic power it will switch to the AMD card. Are you using any programs with intense graphics?
Use the link below to see if you can access the Catalyst Control Center which controls your switchable graphics.

It may just be a matter of seeing how it goes once you start using the computers. It could also be the fact that the driver you are using is it the “ideal” driver because you downgraded a Windows 8 computer.
Another for you to consider if this doesn't work out is to upgrade to Windows 8.1 because it adds some additional features including the Start button again.

Hi Ali-Khan,
Again because you have downgraded I can't guarantee that I can find you a working driver. I have found a couple of different options for you; one from HP's site and one from Intel's.
HP's Intel High Definition Graphic Driver:

Intel HD Graphics Driver:

I have tried using this link to upgrade my driver and have followed the instructions carefully. When i try and bring up my Catalyst Control Center window, I'm getting a message stating "Catalyst Control Center cannot be started. There are currently no settings that can be configured using Catalyst Control Center."
now what?

Hi Jaily,
I will be happy to help you with the Catalyst Control Center. What operating system are you using? What is your product number?
Find your product number on a notebook:

I downloaded the AMD driver update, however the Intel driver was the current version.
Because of your previous comment with regards to graphic power and intense graphics, I should mention that I frequent the Second Life web site. As you may not be aware, this site constantly upgrades their viewers, and, as a result, there are times when most items are seen as huge globs of color, or everything is grey--which indicates the program has not fully rezzed yet.
What I have done so far is gone into the AMD Catalyst Control Center, chose Firestorm (the viewer I use) and changed the setting to Power Saving. Should I have chosen High Performance? Which would be more beneficial for me?
