HP EliteBook 8460p
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently reinstalled a clean version of windows. Now, my fn keys for brightness no longer work. I looked for HP Hotkey support in the drivers download page, but there are no drivers for my model and operating system, I tried using the windows 7 version of Hotkey Support but this error message came up: "Microsoft .NET framework 3.5 SP1 or greater needs to be installed for the installation to continue".

Hi:

To add Microsoft .NET framework 3.5 to W10, you can do so as follows...

Go to the Windows control panel>Programs>Programs & Features>Turn Windows features on or off.

The window will open, a list will appear.  Check the box to install .NET framework 3.5.

Then see if you can install the hotkey software.

You can also try an older W10 version of the hotkey support driver...and you may want to try this first...

I tried the link you posted at the bottom first, but that didn't work, so I tried the windows 7 version after enabling .NET but it said a newer version of this product is already installed, you must uninstall that version before installing this one.

Never mind, i tried uninstalling the old one and reinstalling the new one and now it works. Thanks.

You're very welcome.

Oops, I meant uninstall the "new" one and reinstall the "old" windows 7 one.
