Hi @RomilH,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you've already taken several important steps to resolve the brightness issue. Since the problem persists despite updating drivers and BIOS, here are a few additional troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check Power Settings:

  • Go to Settings > System > Power & Battery.
  • Click on Battery Saver and ensure that it is configured correctly.
  • Make sure there are no settings that might be forcing the brightness to stay at 100%.

Reinstall Display Drivers:

  • Go to Device Manager (right-click the Start button and select Device Manager).
  • Expand Display adapters.
  • Right-click your display adapter and select Uninstall device. Check the box to delete the driver software for this device, then click Uninstall.
  • Restart your computer, and Windows should automatically reinstall the display driver.

Check for HP-Specific Software:

  • HP laptops come with software like HP Support Assistant or HP Display Control that might affect brightness settings. Ensure these are up-to-date or try temporarily uninstalling them.

Perform a System File Check:

  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator (right-click Start button, select Command Prompt (Admin)).
  • Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
  • Wait for the scan to complete and follow any on-screen instructions.

Test with an External Monitor:

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor to see if the brightness issue persists. If the external monitor works fine, it may indicate an issue with the laptop’s internal display.

BIOS Settings:

  • Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing Esc, F2, F10, or Del during startup).
  • Look for any settings related to brightness or display and ensure they are correctly configured.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
