@Mahantesh_AM, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP laptop's camera issue could be related to drivers, background processes, or power management settings. Try the following troubleshooting steps:
Check Camera in Device Manager
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Imaging devices or Cameras and locate your webcam.
- Right-click the camera, select Update driver, then choose Search automatically for drivers.
- If the problem persists, Uninstall the device and reboot your laptop to reinstall it.
Disable and Re-enable the Camera
- In Device Manager, right-click the camera and select Disable device.
- Wait a few seconds, then right-click again and select Enable device.
Check Privacy Settings
- Press Win + I to open Settings.
- Go to Privacy & Security > Camera.
- Ensure Camera access and Let apps access your camera are turned ON.
Reset Camera App
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
- Search for Camera, click on it, and select Advanced Options.
- Click Reset and restart your laptop.
Disable Power Saving for Camera
- Open Device Manager, right-click the camera, and select Properties.
- Under Power Management, uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
Check for Background Conflicts
Some apps may be conflicting with the camera (e.g., Zoom, Teams, Skype). Try closing them using Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) before using the camera.
Run Windows Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other Troubleshooters.
- Run the Camera troubleshooter.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
