Microsoft Windows 11

So I've looked up how to take my device out of dark mode SEVERAL times and every time it tells me to go to settings, personalization, and then click light mode and it should fix it. Well, it only fixed part of my issue. My apps like settings are now on light mode, but any website I go on, or if I use google docs or slides, it's in dark mode. THAT is what I've been trying to turn back to light mode. Please help!

Welcome to the HP Community --

If you have not done so,

Try / Consider

Adjust the settings to On / Off or Light / Dark

Next -- wait a minute --

Go back and switch the settings the way you like them.

What?

Switching back and forth might kick the setting free of having been "stuck".

As well as the "Dark Mode" settings --

Check / Adjust Contrast Themes -

References - Windows 11

Settings > Accessibility > Contrast Themes > Switch to None

Settings > Personalization > Colors > Choose your Mode = Light

What else?

If your applications are stuck "in a mode" --

If not done,

Check

Settings > Personalization > Colors > Choose your Mode > Select (from Drop Down menu) Custom

Choosing "Custom" displays two adjustments:

Choose your default Windows mode

and

Choose your default app mode

Each option lets you choose either "Light" and "Dark"
