Yes I know. I was aware that the USB-C is not a Thunderbolt connector so cannot power another monitor. I wanted a definitive answer as to whether there is any other way (I'm thinking not, dissappointingly) to power a second monitor since the USB-HDMI adapter doesn't work either.

To get the answer to this question, the USB- type C port on this computer will not support display output.

Something tells me you aren't a real person. What's the world coming to. 😞

That was never my question.

Thank you for posting back.

To answer your query: No I'm not a bot, I'm a just human being like you. As I've mentioned earlier on this computer the USB C type is not for video transfer. However, You can use HDMI port Connects an optional video or audio device, such as a highdeƭnition television, any compatible digital or audio component, or a high-speed +igh-'eƭnition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) device.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I have the same question. How do you attach 2 monitors? With a hub (at one point) I managed to extend to one and replicate on the other. But not extend to 2.

Thanks

Dear God my man, I feel your pain.

I have the same issue.  I have connected to a hub and still cannot get the computer to see the second monitor. Anybody have any ideas?

Please don't give me the same jargon that you have been dishing out, HP.. I know.

Yes, you can attach a second monitor to this laptop. I have the same laptop and use two monitors all the time for work. But you need two cords. One is the HDMI for the video output and the other a power connection. I have used an HDMI cable to connect to the monitor and the USB C port for power to the monitor. I am using an external power supply now because those two cords are long and thick and take up too much space on the desktop. If this laptop had a thunderbolt USB C output we could just use that port only for both but why HP decided not to put a thunderbolt USB output there is beyond me. But I read somewhere that maybe it can be set in the BIOS to turn on thunderbolt in the USB C connection. I checked the BIOS and did not find an option to turn video on in that port. Hope this helps. Also getting the laptop to recognize the second monitor was not easy. The windows 10 display settings didn't work I had to right click on the desktop and choose the Intel Graphics display settings to get the second monitor to be recognized. Once I did that it was ok from then on.
