HP ENVY 16 inch Laptop PC 16-h0000 (67T93AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

I bought the latest HP Envy 16 Laptop with Top Specs. Graphics is supported by Nvidia RTX 3060 6GB

I connected the LG Gram View+ 16 portable monitor to the USB-C port and it powers on but then shows a Black Screen. Windows does not recognise it as a secondary display.

Does anyone know of a solution. Its strange that HP's 2022 Laptops dont support this. It works on Surface Laptops.

Thank you

Product is invalid

Anyway, I use the following specs

           https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-envy-laptop-16t-h000-534c9av-1#techSpecs

which shows it has  2 Thunderbolt™ 4 with USB4™ Type-C® 40Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge) ports. Please ask LG why their monitor does does not support  Thunderbolt™ 4 connection ?

Regards.

Hi,

I checked with LG and the monitor requires support of USB-C (DP Alt Mode).

Others online have mentioned that HP envy Laptops do not support this mode.

Please could you confirm.

Thanks

Hi,

I visited the Mall yesterday with my LG USB-C Monitor and connected it to another HP Envy 16 in the Store. The Monitor powered on and showed the LG Logo but did not work as an external monitor and the salesperson was surprised.

We connected the Monitor to the USB-C ports on a Surface Studio, Dell XPS 15 and Asus ProArt Zenbook and it worked. So the Monitor is Working

It worked with a HP Pavilion and HP Envy 13.

There is something that HP has disabled on the Envy 16 that prevents USB-C charging as well as external USB-C Monitor from working.

Hope a solution comes up.

Thank you

Here is the same problem. We try to connect a LG gram view external monitor with the USB-C to our HP notebook HP pavilion 15-cw002ng Win10 AMD Ryzen 5 with Radeon Vega mobile Gfx, 16 GB. The monitor works fine at an LG notebook.

Using the serial number, I found this specs list. It says explicitly, that DisplayPort is included: https://support.hp.com/lv-en/product/hp-pavilion-15-cw0000-laptop-pc/20284015/model/22410548/documen...

It would be nice, if HP support could answer the problem and solve it.

Thank you.

The specs of your machine is

            https://support.hp.com/lv-en/document/c06047115

You should be able to connect a USB-C monitor to its USB-C port. I always say: All USB-C ports are NOT the same therefore you may get NOT compatible when connecting 2 things together.

And you know that now when connecting HP machine to a LG monitor.

Regards.
