HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-es0000 (268U3AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

my Brand new HP laptop wont do what my 4 year old HP laptop would. in the office at work there are dozens of meeting rooms where we connect to external displays for presentation or or Video Confrencing calls. there is only a USB 3.0 (Blue) cable provided in these rooms. if i connect my laptop the screen flashes and you here a double beep, this happens 4 or 5 times and then gives up??

the only difference is that im on windows 11 now and not 10

my colleagues also have windows 11 on various different laptops. maybe i should have bought a Dell laptop instead.

Hi@Seanmorris,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing issues with the HP ENVY X360 Laptop PC Cannot connect HP Laptop to to external screen via USB-A.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • Try with alternate cable and check with different port if it works.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
