Troubleshooting black screen issues on HP Notebooks: Click here to view the instructions!

Envy 14
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Previously I've extended my desktop to another HP monitor (HP w2408) through the HDMI-port. Now I would like to add my LCD-tv (Philips FTV) to get three displays. I have connected it to the Mini DisplaPort. Windows do detect them both. But it seems I can only use either, not both at the same time. Suggestions?

@Stelie,

It is great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the update.

You can download and install the BIOS for the computer, however, you will not be able to install the chipset driver.

I recommend you update the bios and check if it resolves the issue.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

@Stelie,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

This is a wonderful place to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips.

I reviewed your post and understand that you are facing issues connecting to displays to your computer.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • Have you checked both the displays individually?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

While you respond to that, I recommend you check the below video on how to set up multiple displays and check if it helps.

If you continue to face the issue, I recommend you update the bios and the chipset drivers from the below link and test.

Both monitors work individually, but not together. Following the link to update the bios and chipset driver I can't select my operting system. Windows 7 was indeed the OS at purcase, but I've since upgraded to windows 10 (version 1803 64-bit). Will it still work if I select windows 7 (64-bit)?
