HP Pavilion - 15-cc153tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop model is Hp Pavilion CC153TX which has a hdmi port. I want to connect external monitor which has a VGA port to this laptop with its hdmi port through a direct hdmi male to vga male cable. (like the image). will it work?

Does my laptop's hdmi have any sort of internal converter to support direct conversion for hdmi to vga?

or is this type of cable just a scam?

HDMI to VGA is from digital to analog. You need a converter, please check THAT cable : does it have converter chip built-in ?

Regards.

Thank you for your assistance.

In product description, it is mentioned as "Active Video Converter Cord, Plug and Play" .

You can check the screenshot for clear understanding.
