HP Pavilion x360 14 Convertible PC 14-dy1000 (436S8AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I just bought a new HP Pavilion x360 14 inch few days ago. I love the keyboard and design of this laptop but there's one significant problem - the display white balance is so off, my screen has this yellowish tint and the colours also look dull. I was able to increase saturation so the colours are a lot better but still off in many ways.

My biggest problem is that the terrible yellowish tint hurts my eyes when I use the computer in the evenings/night. So bad it has given me a headache 😞 I have spoken to HP support and they said that it was intentionally built with that tint. I have followed these forums and followed steps like off night light, colour calibration etc... but the display is still quite off. It makes me really sad and angry - I spent a lot on it and in my opinion, this needs to be considered a major manufacturing issue because the display is something you stare at all day or for long hours - and it cannot be normal or okay if it hurt's customer's eyes!!!!!!!!!!!

I've seen many people complain about this with other HP models too like the HP Envy and HP Spectre. I am currently living in Sri Lanka, outside of the United States and the local people here also won't accept it as a defect and won't allow me to return this laptop. Not even the oldest computers I've used have had odd colours. None!!! They all had a clear display with colour accuracy to some basic degree. I have never used any laptop or computer with such horrid display. It's really difficult to directly speak to an HP representative but I desperately need a solution.
