The recent Microsoft update messed up my screen brightness. I restarted my laptop and i could barely see anything. The F1 and F2 key to ajust brightness dont work and neither does the adjust brightness bar.

@Linda871, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:
- On your Keyboard press Windows key + X
- Press M to open Device Manager
- expand Display adapters
- Right-click on the current display adapter
- Click Properties
- Click on the Driver tab
- Click on Rollback driver if the option is available
If this does not work please try the following:
- Right-click on the current display adapter
- Click Uninstall
- Check the box that says, "Delete the driver software for this device.”
- Exit Device Manager
- Restart your PC
- On your Keyboard press Windows key + X
- Press M to open Device Manager
- Click on "Action" at the top of the window
- Click on "Scan for Hardware changes"
If the issue persists, uninstall the recently installed windows updates.
- Click the Start button, then click the Settings cog. Once the Settings app opens, click Update & Security. From the list in the center of the window, click “View update history,” then “Uninstall updates” in the top-left corner.
- By default, this list is filtered into groups and sorted with the most recent updates at the top.
- Restart the PC and check.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
