HP Laptop - 15-ef1079nr
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi all,

I had some issues finding data about whether my laptop can be extended to dual monitors.

As my laptop has only one USB-C port (1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® ), my question is the following:

Can I add 2 monitors to my laptop? Is there any solution: adapter, cables to make this work? Would it be able to function with 2 connected monitors, if I connect 1 cable to the HDMI port, and the other cable in the USB-C port?

I will be using my laptop for work and I really want to get some advices (if there is any) about this.

I know that there are differences in each laptop's USB-C ports, and not all USB-C is able to make two monitors work at the same time. Where can I check whether my laptop can make it, or not?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hi @balazspinter,

Yes, you can use both Monitors if you have USB-C PORT and an HDMI port. That should do the trick.

You may refer to this specification

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi Elohi,

Thanks so much for your reply.

My device does have a C port, so it should work just fine. Is all C ports capable of handling dual monitors? I read once, that it is not a 100% that all laptop's C ports can be connected to a monitor, because "it isn't capable of audio". If this info is false, then problem solved, but if not, please say so. My C port is "SuperSpeed", I don't know if this means anything to you (because for me it doens't mean much)

I really hope this will be the key to my problem.

Thanks again,

Balázs

Hi @balazspinter,

As I mentioned before, you can use both Monitors if you have USB-C PORT if it supports and an HDMI port. That should do the trick.
