Elitebook Bank&Olufsen 830 G6 with HP USB-C Dock G5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have a new Elitebook 830 G6 (Intel i7 vPro 8th Gen), and am using a docking box from HP USB-C DOCK G5 (5TW10UT).  I wanted to connect a 4K monitor (actually my HD 4K TV) as my primary display and another QHD 2560x1440 LCD monitor as my second display.  I found out once my 4K monitor is connected (via DP port), any other monitors I connect as my second display it can only display in low res (720x480).  I've tried switching to different ports (HDMI vs DP) but no success.  I have read that I may need to use active DP to HDMI adopter/cables but not sure if this is the case.  Some says there are better docking boxes that supports up to 3 4K monitors.  I wonder if anybody know what is my best option to fix this?   Thank you in advance.

Thanks Banhien for the info.  Page 5 and 6 says it supports dual displays with some display configuration settings in the Host (my laptop?) Basically it says any setting will allows me to connect 2X2.5K displays which is not bad at all.   My dumb question is how do you set this configuration or check this setting?  I went through the laptop under the "display settings" and no place allows me to check or select to DP1.4 or DP1.4MF settings.  Could you advice me further please?  thank you.

Therefore you simply connect monitors as mentioned before, they will turn up with right resolutions.

Note: if the first one had higher resolution, the second one will have less.

Thanks again for the info but per the spec section "Dual Displays", the dock should fully support 2 4K displays in the "High Res mode DP Alt Mode" in the DP1.4 mode.  However, my 2nd monitor is displaying 720x480 which is almost useless.  So the question is remained the same - How do I make sure my notebook is in this DP Alt mode (which I tried to find this setting without success), or needing to buy a special "ACTIVE" DP cable, or buy another docking station?  Thanks for your help.

regards,

EY
