Good day,
So, finally guys, what was the solution that worked? Using a 90w charger?
Asking because right now I am also affected by the issue, although mine is the core i5-8250 version (CK063TX).
I was promised since I opened another thread abiut this issue that someone is going to get back to me, but I am still waiting for them to do so.

HP removed the latest BIOS version F0.4 from its website which was supposedly meant to fix this issue. I am on F0.4 now, and my FPS still drops a few times in the beginning, but stabilizes throughout the rest of the duration. I am using a 65W adapter now. Yes, performance wise, a 90W adapter still does a better job.
HP seems to have deleted version F0.4 from its website, hence removing their only "solution" to this problem. I did hear that they are working on another version already, so hopefully they are able to optimise the BIOS properly this time round. I still have the file of BIOS F0.4 in my downloads... You could contact me if you really want it... But please only download it at your own discretion.
If you take a look at the chinese HP forum (someone had sent a link to the page previously), a HP representative had also posted a file for the BIOS version which was meant to address this performance issue, it should be F0.4 as well.

Don't wait for them to get back to you. If you've phoned in a support case to HP and they haven't got back to you in the timeframe they suggested, call back again and reference your earlier case #. Ask for status or ask for it to be escalated. I had to wait at least 1/2 hour on the phone to get my case escalated to a "Case Manager" who was eventually able to help.

Same problem with a different model (i7-8550u), eventually resolved with a 90w power adapter after about 4 long (and sometimes quite argumentative) phone calls. The online chat support is not going to help at all with this, you absolutely 100% need to phone in a support case.
