HP ENVY Notebook - m7-n109dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Is it a Windows Update for W10 or the BIOS or driver updates from HP that is/are the culprits.

My machine worked great for two weeks until updates from HP and Windows began pouring in.

Could we please  have an expert reslove this without speculation?  I have done all that any power user would do except reset Windows 10. That's not going to happen.

Please, no speculative suggestions.  Just the cure.   Thanks in advance.

The problem is resloved after working with an online tech from another site.  It is an HP update that was causing the problem.

Hi @ctlig,

Thanks for becoming a member of the HP Support Forums. I understand you are having an issue with the function key stopped working after Windows 10 update. I will be glad to help you.

First I woud download and install the latest BIOS version F.11 Rev A.  The link will start the download.

There is also a patch for the HP Wireless Button Driver.

Please keep me informed of how things went.

If you require further assistance, let me know and I will gladly do all I can to help you.

I had already done all the updates.  Like I said, I believe one of the HP or Windows Updates is disabling the Function keys. Someone in R&D needs to find out which HP or Windows Update is causing this problem.
