HP Pavilion - 15-cc129tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have bought a laptop (model number HP Pavilion - 15-cc129tx) in October 2018. But from last 2 week, I am viewing a red dot on my screen whenever any dark object is displayed. This Red dot is visible only when the screen is ON. Could any help me and let me know why is this happen and how to resolve it?

@ HPIndia

@jayKumar1046,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you see a red dot on the computer screen.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • When was the last time the computer was working fine?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

While you respond to that, I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.

If you continue facing the issue, I recommend you boot to BIOS by tapping the F10 key on startup and check whether the red dot is visible is BIOS.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hi The_Fossette,

Thank you for your feedback.

I updated my system BIOS with the latest driver from HP support and Drivers website but it ran into a new problem i.e. now I am not able to login into my system using PIN (showing error something went wrong. (Code:- 0x80070032) Restart your device to see if that fixes the problem) it is accepting only password. Though the red dot issue is still there.

I did the restart to resolve the PIN issue but it did not work.

If you are able to see the red dot in BIOS screen as well then it is a hardware malfunction. I will share you few details through a private message about the service options dedicated to your product, please watch your inbox for more information.

Good day! Take care 🙂

Cheers!

As per your message I contacted the hp chat person and provided a video and image of the red dot. He said that is unnoticeable And later he said to me that it does not cover under warranty under HP policy. Could you please help and let me know will it be covered in the warranty or my money just got wasted?
