Hello,

My webcam is giving off grainy / pixelated image as if it was zooming. When I cover the camera, the image becomes black.

Since this problem happened, I've done the following:

1. Uninstalled / installed the driver;

2. Updated the driver

3. Ran a HP diagnostic

4. Tried using another program to check if it's a software issue (Youcam, Windows Camera);

5. Followed every instruction on the HP website.

Could it be a physical issue with the camera? The computer is barely 2 weeks old...

Thanks for the support!

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are facing issues with the webcam image quality.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

  • Make sure your video recording environment has good lighting.

  • Change the image quality, brightness, contrast, and other adjustments in the webcam software.

To resolve problems with choppy playback, take the following actions:

  • Reduce the size of the video image in the webcam software.

  • Use a high-speed internet connection.

  • Do not use other high-speed USB devices while using the webcam.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Thanks for the feedback.

Tried out those suggestions, but without success. It seems that there's a physical defect with the camera.

I'll have to send the computer to have it repaired.

Thanks anyway.
