HP Pavilion x360 Convertible Laptop PC 14-dh0525nia

Hello
So the evening of the 20th (last week Monday) my laptop began malfunctioning. I was watching a video when the right audio suddenly started having a static- like and buzzing sound. This only happens with the right speaker and also only with bass sounds (every other sound is normal). I immediately restarted my pc but it didn’t solve it. I thought it was the video so I let it play until about an hour after, my screen began flickering (video below). I immediately updated it from windows update but that didn’t help too. I went down the rabbit hole of trying to fix it from there.

Below is a list of all I’ve tried in an attempt to rectify it:

- Uninstalled display driver

- Downloaded updated display driver from intel

- Updated windows

- Performed clean boot

- System recovery

- Uninstalled Avast

- Reinstalled windows 10

- Ran chkdsk, scf, dism

- Updated BIOS (mind you, this occurs in bios too)

- Changed refresh rate to 40 from 60 (This actually helped make it more bearable to work and read: see image below).

- Ran hardware diagnostics (for both display and audio). Done all I can with HP support assistant (passed all tests).

- Ran pc hardware diagnostics with Run (fixed what it could by installing updated drivers or so).
- Ran hardware diagnostics UEFI: extensive system tests and component test of the system board (passed all tests too).

- Got notified that windows 11 version 22H2 is available so I’m currently downloading it.
- Disabled windows error reporting services which didn’t help so I set it back to manual.
- Win + ctrl + shift + B

- Ctrl + shift + win +B
…. and so on.

Basically, I’ve done a lot. The top part of the screen is normal and there’s a green (sometimes pink) horizontal line across the screen with everything below that line being the problem. I can also see the top of my screen at the bottom of my screen. The cursor is also doubled.  One is pinks and the other is green. The green screen is my main display from what I can tell. The pink screen is the jumping one and it jumps exactly every 6 seconds at 40hz. It flickers in between but jumps at exactly 6 seconds intervals. This whole thing happens to my boot logo too. It’s green with the pink jumping screen. It’s almost as if there’s a false layer screen and also as if the refreshing is completely visible. The image shows it better.

This happened late last year too but a windows update fixed the pink and green screen and jumping, and a BIOS update fixed the horizontal line on the screen. This time, those don’t work. Only the changing of the refresh rate seems to have an effect on it.

At 40hz refresh rate, it’s sometimes bad but not as bad as when its at 60hz. It’s also more stable when my pc is idle. I suspect something is out of sync but I can’t say what. Also, the static and buzzing audio is still present but I haven’t done much to rectify it as the display has been my main focus. If there’s anything I can do to solve these, I’d appreciate if I’m told. For now, I’ll wait for windows 11 to finish downloading and then install it to see if it solves this issue.

Images of screen at 40hz with screen jumping, and screen almost in sync. Green - true screen, Pink- false screen:

Also, everything else works perfect. Touchscreen is perfect. It’s just these two.

Oh and I forgot to add that the pink screen freezes when it jumps, at the same interval too but the green screen doesn’t freeze at all. Also, when it happened late last year, the green line also showed up in BIOS but it was fixed so I don’t know if it showing up in BIOS means anything significant.

IMPORTANT: During the BIOS update, my screen was normal with no pink or green screen and no horizontal line (writing new BIOS image screen). The flashing screen was normal too. But after that, the BIOS screen now shows the same issue.

I look forward to hearing from you guys.
Thanks.
