My configuration:

HP Envy x360 convert 15ED1047NR  laptop

HP universal USB-C multiport hub

(2 each) HP 32f FHD monitors

I have 1 monitor connected to the HDMI port on the laptop and 1 connected to the USB-C hub.

When the computer goes to sleep the monitor connected to the laptop disconnects and will not auto reconnect when waking the computer.

the monitor connected to the USB-C hub wakes up. The monitor connected to the laptop HDMI does not.

to fix this I must physically remove the HDMI plug from the laptop and reinsert it.

It then works.

How do I get both monitors to wake up after a break?

The specs of your machine is

Sounds like the USB-C hup is NOT fully compatible with your machine. What is it ? Is it from HP or somewhere else ?

Thank you for taking the time to respond. The USB-C  multiport adapter was purchased from HP at their recommendation and the packaging was branded HP. It only has one HDMI port and that is why I have one monitor connected to the laptop and one monitor connected to the multiport hub.
one difference in the laptop configuration you noted. My laptop came configured with windows 11 home edition. Thanks again.
