Hi Team
I have a brand new HP EliteOne 800 G6 24 inches all-in-one PC.
It is great, but since the switch it cannot detect my Samsung (2019) stand alone monitor. I have tried:
- updating/uninstall/reinstall graphics card
- new HDMI cable (cables and monitor still work fine with old HP laptop)
- switching to a VDA to HDMI cable
- power drain on new computer
- on/off/reset on all parts of the system
The only thing I can't do, as I don't have another monitor, is to try HDMI >> HDMI on a different monitor.
By a process of elimination, maybe there is something wrong with the HDMI output on my new desktop?
It just won't detect that anything is connected at all. Is there any other way of testing the HDMI outlet (not requiring me buying ANOTHER monitor?)
Thanks
Laura

which shows it has
Its HDMI port is an IN port, you can't connect to an external monitor. But it has Display Port 1.4, you can use DP port to connect to an external monitor. A simple DP to HDMI cable can do the job to connect directly from machine to monitor. For example

Thanks so much!!
Do you know how many helpdesk queries I have been over again and again about this?! The HP helpdesk were unable to help, as were Samsung and I was starting to despair!
Thanks SO much!
I have ordered the new cable as you've suggested. Fingers crossed it works and I can get back to working more efficiently!
Thank you!!

Sorry, I don't think your new machine supports this. I don't have a 55" Samsung to test DP to HDMI connection. A direct cable should work.
